At the YMCA, our mission has always been to build strong kids, strong families, and strong communities. In support of these goals, we offer a wide variety of programs for prevention and intervention, including:
Horizons
This therapeutic adventure program promotes self-confidence and cooperation through such activities as rock climbing, caving, white water boating, and rope courses. Available as an 11-week program or a two- to four-day session for groups and families, Horizons helps youngsters negotiate the normal developmental tasks of adolescence while developing an increasing awareness and respect for themselves, others and the environment.
BOSS (Building On Strengths)
This program uses group activities, such as hiking, biking, caving and boating, to help the learning disabled develop self-esteem. Youngsters meet weekly to refine socialization skills, learn to follow directions, work cooperatively, solve problems and appreciate the diversity within the group.

Project Venture promotes activity and healthy habits among visually and physically challenged adults.
Diversity Ambassadors
Diversity Ambassadors in Arlington brings together boys and girls of all races to address the growing issues surrounding cultural diversity, and to teach tolerance and understanding among peers.
SASSY (Senior Active Spirits Staying Young)
